Been working on my website and blog and this issue is wearing me out! Any JPEG image I download is automatically converted to a JFIF file when saved. It was random at first, but now it is doing it regularly and my uploaders for my sites won't recognize JFIF files. I keep having to go to converters online, which don't always work. It's needless and time consuming and is pissing me off! I am not very tech savvy, but I get by. I even tried to open them in paint and rename/save them. NO LUCK! Still a JFIF file. Is this a Windows 10 thing? A Chrome thing? I just want it to stop.
Any suggestions on what this is, why it's doing this and how to fix it??
Thanks in advance and please excuse my rant!!
Kindly, Melissa
How to avoid saving images in webp format in Google Chrome. Use a browser that does not support webp. I just get a message on my download that it failed due to. My browser is Firefox and I believe it is color managed. I also see a purple car when I download the image and view it with various software. The author didn't explain how the purple vs yellow shows. At the image bytes I see a simple JFIF, no EXIF data.

I have posted my problem before and have not been able to resolve the problem as Follows:
When attempting to 'RIGHT CLICK' on photo graphs, images or animations and 'SAVE PICTURES AS' when online I cannot save in any other format (extension other than Bitmap or Art). These 2 type files are not previewable or viewable when saved on my system. Before this problem occured I was able to select from the pull down menue a variety of file extensions to choose from when saving pics/animations etc.(Jpeg, Bitmap,Gif,JPg etc.)
I am operating with Windows ME and IE 6.0. I have attempted (as suggested to empty (delete) all temp internet files and downloaded programs with no change. Can anyone tell me what OTHER corrective action should be taken?
Is this an Internet Explorer problem or another problem with Windows ME?
Any new help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
